Use more heat for longer

Works great when done right. I used this to repair areas of my wetsuit where the seams were leaking. I rinsed the suit well and let it dry for a few days and then used 91% isopropyl alcohol to further clean the suit. After the alcohol had dried, I cut the repair fabric to length and gave the iron a run for its money on a medium setting and the flat iron. I think people who are having bad results aren't getting the patch hot enough. I don't use the thermal paper that comes with the kit, I apply the iron directly to the wetsuit fabric patch that's on the ironing board. Then I take the suit in my hand and use my hand as a base for the wetsuit, you can actually press on the repair patch. When repairing a wetsuit, don't worry about damaging the suit. I used an old wetsuit as a test with a heavy duty iron, you can expose a wetsuit to high heat for a long time before it will damage the wetsuit. So my advice; Use a fairly hot iron, press hard longer, about 15-20 seconds, allow to cool and iron again, even a third time, and don't use anything over the repair patch. Leave the repaired suit for about a day and you're done. I have used the repaired suit while surfing and the repaired area is in a high voltage area, the patch is holding up just fine.

Works great. Use a towel to protect the rest of your wetsuit from the iron!
