Holds well for sewing tools

The plaster does its job well. As other reviewers have suggested, make sure you apply enough heat. Just follow the instructions and perform additional repetitions of the heat application. Also, I made sure all my corners were rounded and added this patch on both sides (in/out).

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Crumpled wrapper

Worked on cycling shorts

I used this to patch a hole I made in the saddle of a pair of cycling shorts. I am very happy with the results. Application was easy with an iron; I suggest starting with a low temperature and then increasing until a good bond is achieved. I went ahead and patched both sides. The material is very similar to shorts and was comfortable on my skin. So far it has survived several trips.

just an elastic iron on the fabric - non-refundable!

is a piece of stretchable fabric laminated to a wetsuit coated with a heat-activatable adhesive. It doesn't fill a hole in a wetsuit, it has no thickness itself. It is designed to repair neoprene but is not actually a neoprene patch. I have a hole in my suit that I wanted to patch until I came back from a long trip and had the suit repaired properly, thought I could use this patch but it wasn't the right product. I noticed that as soon as I took it out of the tube. I went to Revain to return it

  • Great Construction
Cons

Better Than Expected

We used these to fix a pair of stretchy Lycra (spandex) tights that look like yoga pants. They broke near the seam. This product is mainly an adhesive patch for flexible fabrics. The patch isn't as flexible as the original and the repair isn't entirely subtle, but overall not bad. The patch is stronger than the material we attached it to. Make sure your iron isn't too hot - you might damage the original clothes at first. We've had no problems with this, although we have used a non-contact…

Pros
  • Great Variety
Cons
  • Multiplier Set

WARNING: Place a towel over the thermal paper to avoid contact or burns from the steam from the iron directly on the neoprene. (You can make the problem worse (as I originally did). This patch kit works great. Measure a piece, trim so you don't have sharp edges (round edges stick better). Lay heat-protection paper on top, then towel over place the heat release paper and then put on the iron.Slowly move it back and forth while maintaining contact with the patch (thin shiny line around the patch)

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Thin

I wish I had found leggings sooner!

My god. For years I've stitched holes in leggings caused by "chafing, swollen skin" on my inner thighs, but this only makes the surrounding fabric weaker and likely to tear/wear again. I use iron-on patches for the inside of my jeans, but I never thought I'd find a patch that was stretchy enough (and ironed!) to use on leggings. A pack of the retainer saves about 8 pairs of leggings with 1" skinny strips to strengthen the inseams. You can see I've used it where only the seams have worn but the…

Store your bike kits with this one!

cycling clothing is expensive. The last thing I want to do is throw away a pair of shorts because they ripped in a fall or snagged on gear or gear. This stuff works fantastic! However, please note that I have found that you have to repeat the heating process several times, but after it has been glued it does not come off. I had a pair that I tore in the crotch because I got caught in my seat on some technical trails. After the first use and washing I examined them. The 2 corners looked like…

Use more heat for longer

Works great when done right. I used this to repair areas of my wetsuit where the seams were leaking. I rinsed the suit well and let it dry for a few days and then used 91% isopropyl alcohol to further clean the suit. After the alcohol had dried, I cut the repair fabric to length and gave the iron a run for its money on a medium setting and the flat iron. I think people who are having bad results aren't getting the patch hot enough. I don't use the thermal paper that comes with the kit, I apply…

Solid patch very easy to use with few adjustments

I bought this to fix an old wetsuit that had a torn seam. I was a bit taken aback after reading the reviews which gave conflicting instructions. I ended up following the instructions that came with the repair kit pretty closely with a few modifications. Here's what I did: - Clean the area with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely - Make sure the wetsuit is on a flat surface and WITHOUT WREAPS (this is more important than stressing people - if your wetsuit isn't completely flat , the patch…
