Review on πŸ’» Plugable AB Switch - USB 3.0 Sharing Switch for Instant One-Button USB Device or Hub Swapping Between Two Computers by Carlos Macy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This is a good USB switch

Minor update: dim LEDs. At first they were bright and visible, but after a few months it became a bit difficult to know which exit was chosen. The USB pluggable switch is exactly what I needed and it works without any issues. The device is bus-powered, so it does not require an external power supply. As long as one side of the device is connected to the computer, it will work normally. Basically, it's a single-port USB hub that lets you switch between two computers with the push of a button. I use mine as a keyboard/mouse switcher between two computers installed side by side. It comes with two cables that have USB 3 "A" connectors on one end, which means they connect to the computer, and USB type "B" connectors on the other end (block type, as you see on the printer). It should work with any compatible cable, but I use two of them. Switching between computers is easy with a push of a button, and two LEDs indicate which connection is active. I have no problem switching between computers. I even plugged a USB headset into the keyboard and switched and the active computer recognizes the connection. It would be nice if it had some sort of USB-C connector for modern computers, but I got around that limitation. I lay around with a couple of adapters. Otherwise it's perfect for my needs. I have no idea why Revain is asking me to review this device for "camera quality", "clarity" or "thickness". No camera. It's not fabric. This is a USB switch. I suspect this is just another example of the flaws in the rating system.

Pros
  • SIMPLE DEVICE SHARING - Compact design makes it easy to switch a USB 3.0 device or USB hub between two computers with one touch
Cons
  • Hard to tell
