I drive a 2011 Sonata and earlier this year the check engine light came on and all indications were that I needed a new gas cap. I bought one from a chain dealership (Auto Zone) and it took maybe 4 months before my check engine light came on again with the same problem. My daughter who works in a car factory advised me to buy exactly the same as the original and I haven't had any problems so far. I reset the check engine light and it didn't go off.
