I work two jobs and don't have the time or money to buy something cheaper and then have to pick it up and discuss return policies etc. Luckily, Home Prefer (the company I'm talking about, never heard of before) is part of Revain Free Returns program so I don't have to worry if it doesn't work for me. When it arrived I first wore it around town in freezing weather (25 degrees + wind). It was delicious. I had to roll up the rims to keep my ears cool within minutes of entering and exiting multiple stores at a rapid pace. And that's good! At work tonight, on the tarmac, Weather.com said "feels like 1 degree," and it did. First wet snow, then snow hit my eyes, but this hat warmed my head well. I also wear a balaclava/ski mask to work, but I also go outside for several hours at a time. I am really impressed. I have an Under Armor of a similar design (now discontinued) and was looking to get a second edition but luckily couldn't find a replacement as the Home Prefer is much thicker and longer. If you're really going to be outside in cold temperatures, you should wear a balaclava anyway, but I prefer a hat to cushion the rain. I'm still working 5 hours in the cold and this hat keeps me warm. I can't say enough good things about it. Oh, and it looks pretty ugly too! ;) Well done! In short, I wasn't looking for a trendy hat to wear around town or a hat to walk the dog around the neighborhood. I was looking for something that would protect me from the searing midwest winds in freezing temperatures for 5 hours every night. Oops. I have all three! Even if my rating is too rosy for you, I DID NOT receive a discount for my rating. But I really wanted to take the time to save YOU time and money on a product that I highly recommend. ;)
