Review on Apple MacBook 13 Inch 2 3GHz 256GB by Wiktor Iwanski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Quite good, but I expected more from it.

I bought this model after Macbook Pro 15 Late 2022. First of all, I needed portability and lightness, as well as autonomy. Imagine my surprise that the Macbook Pro 13 with the Touchbar holds the charge the worst of the entire current line. It comes to the point of absurdity, sometimes even 4 hours is not enough under heavy load, sometimes even 2-3 RDP / VNC sessions are enough to drain the battery in 2-3 hours. Saves only Powerbank with Power Delivery support. 8Gb RAM is not enough, it's a shame to put so much in the top configuration without the ability to expand at least up to 16Gb. In general, Macbooks are no longer the same as they were before 13-14 years old, the quality has not been the same for a long time. The problem is that other manufacturers are doing even worse at times, and you don’t want to look at Windows 10 on a laptop at all.

Pros
  • - Beautiful screen, after Macbook Pro 15 Late 2022 you can really feel the difference in brightness and color accuracy - The body is completely metal, the hinge is also metal - Huge touchpad that completely replaces the mouse - Touch ID, pay with Apple Pay and unlock the poppy when there is no Apple Watch is very convenient - Very fast SSD. Nearly 3000 Mb/s read and 1800 Mb/s write - 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports, each universal - Fast charging compared to my previous Macbook Pro 15
Cons
  • - Low performance. Unfortunately, Apple did not decide to import custom versions into the 2022, so you have to be content with a 2-core Intel Core i5 and 8Gb RAM - RAM is still LPDDR3 standard - Very small and dead battery - The touchbar is mostly useless, so the Escape key was also moved to it - The Butterfly 2 keyboard is a complete bottom, it makes noise like mechanics, but there is no tactile feedback + the key travel is minimal. After 2-3 hours of typing, my hands hurt. The scissors were much better. - Not friendly with Bootcamp, either drivers are crooked or it's Microsoft's cant, but the screen in Windows can independently change brightness every minute, and Wi-Fi falls off the modem on the iPhone. Reinstalling drivers and Windows did not solve the problems
