wiring problem!
This adapter is connected incorrectly and causes the SNES to behave very badly. If a power cord is not connected to the SNES console and you connect this adapter to the video connector, the power light on the console will be lit even if the power switch is off and the power cord is unplugged. There is some DC bias on the adapter's wires, which literally turns the console on without the power cord being connected! This is not good. Send it back asap and hope it doesn't damage my console.
