The article was on its way as I accidentally read the reverse polarity protection disclaimer which I believe refers to polarity. The device was returned due to concerns about the USB-C connector, which technically can accept a USB connector in any orientation. The module does not have reverse polarity protection, the input polarity cannot be reversed, otherwise the product will be irreversibly and irreparably damaged.
