I bought this because it was the perfect size for my keyboard. Now I can keep my kitty away from the keys! His bed is between the keyboard and the monitor. Note that this didn't solve the whole problem since he's now sitting on the mouse pad. Printing under the shelf is not very convenient. If you have large hands or stiff fingers, you may need a higher shelf. I'm fine, but if I had to write a long email I would delete it.
