Review on LW K3010D Spectrophotometer with Adjustable Switching Regulated Design by Chris Endricko

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Broke on first use, started smoking. Dangerous and full damage at first use.

I had problems with mine from the start. I just tried turning on the LED as a first test but couldn't get it to light up. I never have electricity. Then, as shown in some tutorial videos on using a lab power supply, I did a 1A short circuit load test and found that there is some current and a voltage of about 0.1V. Good. So, I thought, and now let's try it with a real consumer. I ran an old portable VFD computer game (Entex Pac Man) on 4x 1.5v battery and tried 6v. Smoke from the PSU, LEDs are flashing. I immediately turned off the power in the game, the power supply continued to hiss and the LEDs continued to blink. Smoke began to fill the room. I quickly pulled the plug. Now, after putting it back in the box to ship it back to Amazon immediately, I hear something inside the case coming loose. The fuse didn't even blow. I'm sorry, but this thing was TOTALLY SHIT AND DANGEROUS. I think it was an isolated case/"lemon" but I can't believe it passed QUALITY CONTROL. Dangerous!

Pros
  • High quality and safety
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than others
