If DOA, look for a RAM LED in the top right corner of the board.

Okay, so I'm going to be perfectly fair here. I received the board. Everything was hooked up correctly (even checked with a techie at the local computer store) and I didn't get a POST on startup. After scouring the internet for a possible solution, I found all possibilities from bent CPU pins to dead RAM slots to bad power supply. So I started testing. My MoBo lit up, fans kicked on and everything (except the hard drive hummed a bit) and no visual effects from HDMI, Displayport or VGA (1080 was connected) tried both the onboard graphics and the 1080 options. I found a bunch of articles that said you should try to unplug everything EXCEPT the MoBo power supply, the CPU power supply, and the CPU fan. Well it didn't work. to the next exam. I connected the MoBo to my wife's desktop power supply (evga 750w), same results. Plugged my power supply into her desk and it caught fire. So no problem (mine is "Beast 700w" or something like that) Well finally after hours of reconnecting after trying everything I found on the website. Eventually I came across an article that said the kid's ram slots were dead. said that the LED built into the board was constantly on, which means there is a problem with the RAM. And sure enough, I turned mine on and it was ORANGE, whatever you want, as bright as the sun. I ordered a new one and asked for a return label for the old one. I'll update this review if the new one works well, but for now I have to give this one star for DOA. Sorry Asus ***UPDATE*** So after installing the new motherboard, all I had to do was hook up the CPU, RAM, and cables. It lit up right away. My guess is that the other one was just defective as I suspected. Now that it's over. I can briefly report my first impressions. The RGB on the shroud is very nice, not too bright so no complaints. All components in my case (Cougar Evolution) are connected directly to it and work fine, including the top fan controller. POST didn't take long, installed Windows 10 from a USB drive and was up and running in 15 minutes. I'm really excited about this board so far.
