Review on Black Qualcomm Toq - Smartwatch for Android Smartphone by Jason Childs

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Well and.: Wearable Technology

.well, the design part is just stupid. I used to have a Samsung Gear Smartwatch V1 and switched to them in preparation for my next-gen device. It's pretty close to next-gen, but not quite. What annoys me the most is the watch strap and how Qualcomm integrated it into the device - the good folks at Qualcomm did their best, but it's stupid. If you don't know, adjust the band and then physically cut it to the correct length before the device can be worn. If your wrist gets smaller or the wrist of the person you later sell the device to, that's not a problem - quite the opposite, hmmm. no bueno .and no replacement for it - it's pretty much a one-time "setup". Stupid stupid stupid. For now, good points include that I can use it to control apps on my S5, e.g. the Google Play Music app, and I love the flexibility of the Mirasol display - a low-power, backlit display if you want or need it. to make it really easy to change the display, depending on what going on or how you intend to use it. Replying to text messages with Nuance is also quite comfortable - perhaps better than in the Samsung Voice app. Are there other aspects that I like? the time will show. More apps will certainly make it more useful, but the watch strap issue is really lame. Expect more from a company that prides itself on superior technology.
