This little device can do it all, VGA, Composite, and even Component. And of course, HDMI. The delay over USB is about 1-3 seconds, and uses MJPEG compression. Where this device really shines for streaming is when used with a realtime HDMI capture device. But for non-live, such as home use, or YouTube, it can capture directly to the device (with added storage). Be mindful of the speed of your storage device, as it may silently drop frames if you have a drive that can't keep up.The firmware has a few bugs which I reported to the company, and they seemed to welcome the feedback, so hopefully the bugs will be fixed soon, but the bugs don't really make it a dealbreaker.Pros:- Capture most retro analog inputs (Composite, Component, VGA)- Capture HDMI- Record directly to device (with fast SD/USB storage)- HDMI Out to a bigger display or realtime capture device- Tripod mountable and has remoteCons:- Accepts 1080p and displays it on a 720p screen (hard to use for PC repair since it reports 1080p, text is small and blurry due to downscaling, for this reason I would recommend this mostly for older formats)- Firmware bugs (volume reset, etc)- Only accepts batteries from old Sony Handycams (weird design choice IMO)- Non-realtime USB PC connection and MJPEG codec (due to USB2 port instead of USB3)Overall this is a nice device for analog capture, and even in a pinch for hooking up to a headless PC for diagnostics (even if it is blurry as per above).
