Great for converting your old analog miniDV tapes!

Very easy to use. Has component inputs, which is crucial for getting HD video out of some older camcorders. Easy interface. The only thing better would be a WiFi chip so videos could be sent. But they are easily transferred via thumbdrive, so not too big of a deal. Maybe a way to trim the videos would be nice. Otherwise, great product!

Pros
  • 2-Year Warranty & Tech Support From ClearClick, a USA-Based Small Business
Cons
  • Limited Compatibility: The ClearClick HD Video Capture Box Ultimate 2.0 (Second Generation) is not compatible with all devices, which means that some users may have difficulty connecting their device and capturing high-quality video

Retro Streamer's Paradise

This little device can do it all, VGA, Composite, and even Component. And of course, HDMI. The delay over USB is about 1-3 seconds, and uses MJPEG compression. Where this device really shines for streaming is when used with a realtime HDMI capture device. But for non-live, such as home use, or YouTube, it can capture directly to the device (with added storage). Be mindful of the speed of your storage device, as it may silently drop frames if you have a drive that can't keep up.The firmware has…

Pros
  • Capture SD Video 720x480 (with Audio) From RCA, VHS, VCR, DVD, Camcorders, Hi8 - Or Live Stream Via USB Using PC & OBS (Windows only; Mac/XSplit Not Supported)
Cons
  • The process of transferring captured video from the device to your computer can be slow, which may be frustrating for users who want to edit and share their footage quickly

Useful For Streaming - With Some Quirks

This is a useful tool - especially if your needs are geared towards it's strengths. You can use this for streaming (I use OBS on PC), which is pretty cool. Hook up a camera to the HDMI input (or use one of the included adapters to stream other content) and you can output it to your PC via the USB interface (micro USB, not USB C). As a bonus, you get a monitor to view your video that will be going to your PC. The computer reads it like it would a webcam, complete with audio. There is very little…

Pros
  • Video Converters
Cons
  • While this product can capture high-quality video, it does not offer many options for editing or customizing captured footage, which may be limiting for some users

Simple to Use and So Useful!

This is handy down the easiest way i ever transferred my videos.Everything was as simple a click and i could see what was transferring.I had no issue with any size of tape videos. We moved all our children's videos to memory cards for each of them. Now they have an up to date format that they can share.Videos are for sharing and they will never watch them. This opened up their eyes quickly to all the childhood memories.Transferring was quick an easy with the highest HD definition!Highly Recommend!

Simple Conversion in my review

I picked this up to digitize some old 8mm and video. Versatile product that I have used on several projects. I also use it to capture my live video and non-Copyrighted material. It is a time saver and I would recommend for sure. Easy to use!Enjoy,.F.C.S.

Pros

Outstanding for my opinion

Have converted perhaps 100 or so tapes. Very satisfied with many features. Only disappointment relates to not supporting S-video. I bought another converter for abt $34 which took Sony outputs with s-video and converted to HDMI which I used as input to the ClearClick. The first converter also provided some upscaling. We have abt 60 more tapes to convert. Biggest disappointment relates to camcorder’s heads require so much cleaning.

Pros
  • Accessories
Cons
  • Dependence on External Devices: The ClearClick HD Video Capture Box Ultimate 2.0 (Second Generation) relies on external devices such as a computer or monitor to function, which means that users must have these devices available for use with the capture box
