I have bought many Brother laser printers over the last 15 years and have been very happy with the printers and the print quality prior to this one. The first problem was the printer cable. The port on the printer side had a different connector configuration so I had to run a new cable that was about 6 inches shorter so I had to buy an extension cord. Less than a few hundred pages later, toner problems started. I took out the cartridge and cleaned off the excess toner. After a few pages, the printer begins releasing excess toner and all pages appear to be covered with a very thin layer of toner. I checked the Brother website but couldn't find a solution. I think there is a problem with the drum and toner assembly. Apart from the toner problem, the printer works very quickly and well. When I saw the toner issue reviews, I assumed it was an isolated issue. It's strange that some people don't have problems while others do. I hope this resolves when I replace the toner cartridge.
