These lamps are made very cheaply. For example, the knuckles of the arms don't fit well together, and the knuckle teeth are cast rather than machined, causing them to slip. The teeth do not fit together so the pressure created by the thumbscrew then grips the teeth holding them in place. It would be very easy to break these teeth off if someone moves the lamps without loosening the screw. I ordered two of these and on one I couldn't tighten the ring that holds the lampshade in place because it fit so poorly between the lamp filaments and the ring. I will most likely be returning these lamps as I am very dissatisfied with the quality.
