My fault for not reading the full description of the case before ordering. From a 3rd generation iPad with a fully padded front and back that has withstood many falls over the years, to a 7th generation iPad. The case I ordered comes with a lid that has some padding, but the back is just a clear plastic sleeve that the iPad snaps into, the case has a 1/16" lip that's on the edge of the iPads attached. On an edge or flat fall, I have no idea if this plastic is or will be impact resistant. It tears or breaks on impact. I can't wait to send it back. Only time will tell how much protection this case offers for my new iPad. We buy cases for protection, not because they look pretty. Update: Santa must have heard my complaint as I got a new case for Christmas. The same plastic shell BUT now with a soft front and back that sandwiches the shell. We are our worst enemies when we drop something. Why buy something that, due to the manufacturing process, can contribute to this due to the slippery backing? It was returned to Revane.
