It's a simple, minimalist design that offers your iPad protection that the Apple keyboard case alone doesn't offer. A couple of points: 1) This protects the corners, top, and sides, and gives you enough lip so that if you drop your iPad from a reasonable height, it's likely to come out unscathed. 2) This will protect your pen so it won't be removed if you don't want to. 3) It's lightweight, so you probably won't feel the extra weight. 4) It adds some size on the sides and top but not on the front or back so the result isn't bulky. 5) If you think the iPad is too easy to take out of the keyboard case, it will put an end to it. That's a plus for me, but if you want to easily remove your Halo iPad from the keyboard case, then this isn't for you. Removing the iPad itself is easy enough, but the Halo case will be a permanent attachment to the keyboard case itself for all practical purposes. 6) Judging by the magnetic mount that connected the bottom of the iPad to the keyboard slot, the bottom corner protectors would reduce magnetic attraction and make it easier to fold. If you didn't think the original magnetic hold was too strong and actually thought it was right, be aware. However, the iPad cannot be ejected from the keyboard bay by simply lifting it or using a stylus. I personally like the reduced magnetic force, but I guess not everyone shares my opinion. The iPad is dark, but that's not too much of a disadvantage compared to its strengths. 8) If you want to use Halo as a standalone case to protect it like an iPhone, you can. If I need a standalone case, I'd go for something a little prettier. I'm just saying, if you want the Halo to be a standalone case, it will do the job.
