I bought WizDice: Series II: Alchemic Oddities (100+ Pack Random Polyhedral Dice) for my RPG group. A lot of people kept telling me that wholesale usually takes "seconds", but I still wanted to give WizDice a chance to shine. First let me say the photos don't do it justice. . These bones are BEAUTIFUL in person. I dare say these are some of the most beautiful dice I have ever seen. The colors remind me of gems and candy, and the colors of the marble remind me of mother-of-pearl with fancy enamel. I've posted two photos, one shows the kits I received and the other is a close up of the D6 just so you can see the detail on the dice better. They have smooth edges and are lighter than chessex bones, but not too light. I find them very comfortable to hold and use. The sets we received in our pack were: Fairy Fire, Basilisk Blood, Jade Oil, Mountain Heart, Boiled Galle, Arcane Aura, Abyssal Mist, Swamp Slime, Lucid Dreams, Stardust, Royal Gum, Astral Echoes, Philosopher's Stone , Kings Ransom and cloud drops. When I put them on my playing card to photograph, I started to fall in love with them. My favorite sets from this group were definitely Basilisk Blood and Stardust. Jade Oil, Mountain Heart, and Cloud Drop are also great. As I began inspecting them, I noticed that the vast majority of the dice we received were well painted, legible, and with no obvious warping. I only found 12 dice (out of 105) that had any character flaws (like a small smudge, small smudge, and/or badly drawn number). Inspired by how amazing they looked and felt, I decided to give it my all and put these little beauties to the ultimate test. I started with a light test on translucent cubes to find bubbles. I found that of the translucent dice I received, 16 had 1-2 tiny to tiny bubbles visible and one of the d-4 had a cluster of over 8 small bubbles in the center. (It was actually quite nice, and surprisingly it didn't seem to affect his spin much.) I then ran saltwater/float spin tests. Of the 105 cubes tested, 55 failed the salt water test and 50 cubes passed the test. The vast majority of misses are marbled/more opaque in appearance, including my favorites Basilisk Blood and Stardust. . . My heart has been broken. . . But I wasn't about to give up without a fight, so I continued testing them to determine the issues and how they affected actual pitching. So the next step was roll tests on the 55, which failed the salt water test. Each die was rolled 20 times in two test levels to see if numbers or faces of the die appeared suspiciously more than others. For those who do the math as I know you, I had to do 2200 rolls. As a result, 34 out of 55 dice were found to be "a little wobbly" in the sense that they had a slight preference for one or two numbers or a side/corner of the dice. I can use them for other games but not for serious D&D style campaigns. Unfortunately, I also found that 21 of the dice were so unbalanced that they were completely unusable. The results for 21 unusable cubes were as follows: D-20s: Approved 11, 11.116 D-10s: Approved - 7,3,8,5,9,41 D00s: Approved - 004 D-6s: Approved - 1 , 4, 4, 1 I hope this data is helpful. Despite what turned out, I still love WizDice dice and think they are beautiful, but I would like to know if there is a way to send defective, unusable dice as a replacement or maybe get a refund for defective ones?
