I have a 30 gallon tank in my son's room and no matter how I installed it or how I tried to adjust the little metal part inside, our pump was annoyingly loud. After years of listening to Pump Bzzz while trying to sleep, my son asked if we could think of something quieter. I was looking for a silent air pump and found this one. The reviews seemed good so we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we bought a HIRALIY air pump and wonder why I didn't look for it for long. I plugged it in after it was set up and just to see how loud it was I cranked it up to full blast. Wow! At first I wondered if the pump was working properly or maybe it wasn't powerful enough but produced the bubbles we like with 1/10th the noise of our other pump. If you want a quiet pump, this is the one for you. one!
