I bought it to connect rear speakers and a subwoofer. I tore the pedestal off the wall at the front of the room where my receiver will be and at the back where the subwoofer and surround back channels would be placed. I then removed the carpet from the tape and peeled off the backing and unclipped it from the base. I cut a few inches of tape where I was going to place the low voltage mounting brackets in the wall to access the wires. Near the bottom, just above where the bottom of the wall should be, I cut a side slit about 1 inch high and 5 inches. This allowed me to run these flat wires into the cavity of the wall and through the low voltage ring I installed. I taped them to the floor making sure they were level and repeated the process of cutting a hole in the drywall and running the wires into the wall cavity. Finally, I put the baseboard back in place in both places, being careful not to drive nails where the wires run. I put the rug back in place and got a knee brace from the local hardware store to put the rug back on the adhesive strips. A little caulk around the edges where I tore the baseboard off the wall, touched it up with paint a bit and got compliments from my wife on a job well done. Took me about 4 hours in all, and I can't even tell where the wires are because they go under the rug and under the rug. Much easier than any other approach I would have to take at this location.
