Good if you can't hide the wires behind the wall

Due to the wired speakers this worked well to run along the side and back of the baseboards. I managed to keep them in place with double sided tape - almost a year later they have started to detach from one base or another. Should I use a stronger tape? I'd recommend wireless speakers, but if you're stuck with wired speakers (and can't hide them behind a wall), this is the way to go.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Great for working under carpet, difficult to bend

Purchased to place rear surround speakers under carpet. If you have to do more than a 20 degree incline for a few feet, you're in trouble. The wire is flat so you can't feel it as you walk, but it's wide so it won't lay flat if you bend it too much. I had to make a 90 degree bend and I cut the wire and tied it under the carpet. 5 stars because it does exactly what it's supposed to. Just note that this applies to straight sections, not curves.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Outdoor

Not as thin as ghost wire but much easier to use.

I've used Sewell ghost wire in the past and it was definitely lower, but it wasn't easy to work with either and ended up falling off the wall. This cable is much heavier but still narrow compared to most speaker cables. For the floor, I bought cheap carpet underlay from Wal-Mart and cut it to match the wire, making the wire "flush" with the underlay. Then I put another soft pillow and a rug on top. Honestly I still feel it but it doesn't leave any visible lines on the carpet like it did before…

Pros
  • Not only useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

By far the cheapest flat cable I could find and doesn't require any special expensive adapters. Although it's flat, there's a standard cable inside that can be fed straight into the speakers, and it was actually quite easy to strip the lugs with a standard wire stripper. Another great thing from Monoprice, I could run it under carpet without feeling it when I stepped on it, unlike regular 16 gauge speaker wire. I've also raised it up against a couple of walls to the surround speakers and it's…

Pros
  • Cables and Connections
Cons
  • Not the best

Excellent material!

This speaker cable is very similar to the Monster Cable SuperFlat Mini speaker cable that I bought years ago and used to connect my surround back speakers. The main difference is that the Monster cable had an extra 1/8 inch thick layer of insulating material between the two wires, making it much easier to attach with a small nail or tack, and I didn't have to worry about poking through the wire . I used carpet tape to run it along my baseboards, it's no big deal but would be nice to see that…

  • AV Accessory
Cons
  • Out of fashion

You won't feel it under your rug

I just had a rug replaced in my living room and bought this cord in the hopes it could get under the rug and 'disappear'. After the installers pulled out the old carpet, I laid it on the floor and taped it in place. I asked the installers to cut a hole in the tape for me at each point on the wall. After the pillow fell off, I walked barefoot across the pillow along the wire and could barely tell it was there. And just because I knew it was there. Once the carpet was off I didn't feel it at all.

Pros
  • Wires and Connections
Cons
  • Very Expensive

I bought it to rear channel speakers and .

I bought it to connect rear speakers and a subwoofer. I tore the pedestal off the wall at the front of the room where my receiver will be and at the back where the subwoofer and surround back channels would be placed. I then removed the carpet from the tape and peeled off the backing and unclipped it from the base. I cut a few inches of tape where I was going to place the low voltage mounting brackets in the wall to access the wires. Near the bottom, just above where the bottom of the wall…
