For $10 this is a pretty solid skimmer and I recommend it. I have a planted aquarium that is injected with carbon dioxide. I was afraid that the surface is too rough and the CO2 will evaporate faster, but everything seems fine. Pros: It definitely cleans the water surface well and is quiet. No more floating leaves or oily deposits. worth 10 dollars. Cons: The brackets that come with it don't fit. The rimless one was too small for my rimmed pool and the other was huge. Not sure what type of tank it fits in unless the glass is 3" thick. However, I used suction cups to solve this problem. The block is not sealed very well, so water is sucked in through the bottom as well. The flow rate is not adjustable. I had to point the exit at the glass, which actually worked pretty well. If you're looking for a cheap surface skimmer, this trick is for you.
