I had this in our 5th wheel in the main living area and really didn't notice a difference. I set it to 68 degrees and it was 65 and it didn't work. We put it in a small storage area where our solar panels are located and it maintains a constant temperature of 58 degrees. So far the lowest temp at night has been in the 30s, so we'll see if it can handle that when it gets colder. It seems to work well in a small space. It's very difficult to start - I have to turn it on and off before I can set the temperature. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it can take 5 minutes or more to finally set the temperature. When I turn it on from the side it only shows 2 lines and does nothing. I push the power button on the front and nothing happens. It eventually gets the temperature where I can set it. I read the instructions several times, it did not help. Now that it's in a small area and the temperature is set and hopefully we don't have to turn it off to reset the temperature, it works great for what we need.
