I tried to use this charger to service a pair of stock batteries in a 24V ex-military vehicle. The initial charging voltage was 30.0V (exactly) measured on my DVM and 29.8V when the device itself turned on. Due to the high voltage, the batteries immediately and noticeably began to gas. This voltage exceeds all recommendations on the Internet for charging lead-acid car batteries. I returned it and replaced it with a much more expensive DelTran 24V charger that will support the same batteries at acceptable voltage and with no noticeable gassing.
