I received this book from the library after getting a guinea pig. I liked it so much that I decided to buy it. It's very informative and detailed. For example; Guinea pigs are not pigs and do not come from the pig family. You are Cavey. (The Cave - uh.) This book only got four stars because it was missing what I felt was an important piece of information: how to sex your guinea pig. All the books I have read about guinea pigs recommend keeping at least TWO guinea pigs as they are social animals. But you don't want to keep a male and female together unless you want "thousands" of babies. (Yes, guinea pigs are in the same order (Rodentia, although this is debatable) as rabbits.) Rabbits, mice, rats, and others are considered "rodents" and breed very quickly. That omission aside, this is an excellent book, full of color pictures and important information. Highly recommended.
