Used to split the 525 chain and should have used it to press the side plate against the main link. Worked very well. The handle on the side could be a bit longer. It's a bit short for my hands. I warn you, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BREAK THE CHAIN WITHOUT FEEDBACK THE RIVET END OF THE PINS! I bent a good quality chain breaker to break the chain without grinding. It's not the tool's fault, I used two cheat bars. I've successfully broken smaller chains without grinding in the past, but on these larger chains, it's much better if you just grind the pins down, seriously. Not grinding the pins is like trying to replace a car's water pump without removing the alternator. Yes, you can, but it's more work than just removing the alternator. giggle
