I'll be the first to admit that they weren't purchased for medical use, although yes if I put a product or lotion on my body and that product smells strongly, I will use them , so as not to accidentally get the product into the eyes and sinuses. They were bought for two other reasons. The main reason is that I do a lot of mailing for work and manually fold and pack about 700 mailings once a week. The constant paperwork dries out my hands and I keep getting paper cuts. So I was hoping the layer between my right hand and the paper would help and I needed something that didn't dangle. I also wanted something to chop onions and garlic as I have issues with strong smells. And since I have most of these at work, I can now also refill a pre-inked stamp without getting my hands dirty with ink. So here's how I use them. It says nothing about the product itself. I'm a woman, my hands are small or medium sized so I was afraid they might be too big. In fact, there is no explanation as to how to determine which size is right for you. For work I needed something that was just an extra layer on my arm as I often had to stop work and sit on my phone and computer. Stopping to take it off every time I need to change gears isn't an option. The average size is small, because there is some tension when bending the fingers. It's not a showstopper and not particularly inconvenient, but if I order again (it will be a very long time before I have to do this) I will choose a larger size. The gloves are thin enough that I can do anything with them. On the days I wear it, it's only taken off to go to the bathroom, do the dishes, or stop for lunch. The same glove is taken off and put on again at least 8 times a day. I've never had a problem with tearing so they're holding up well the way I use them. I don't smell what's important to me. My hand doesn't sweat when I take it off. In fact, if I wear the same glove most of the day, my hand is in better shape than when I started the day. So I'm not using it for its intended purpose, but I'm definitely getting used to it. I would give it a higher rating if it were a little bigger.
