This balm is cheaper than most, but it also doesn't work that well on my beard. The hold isn't as good as other brands like Grave Before Shave (my current choice) and the consistency is more like jelly. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, depending on your preferences. I use it more often when my beard is shorter and I don't need as much hold or shaping because the consistency makes it easier to apply than GBS. I also don't like the smell - it's not bad/good, just not impressive or lingers long after application. Again, this may be okay if you're looking for a soft, clean scent and not what others will feel about you.
