Although these shorts are very soft, they still bounce. They're supposed to be tapered, but unlikely they are, maybe technically half an inch or so. When I'm sitting, they put on my boxers, so I wouldn't recommend wearing them in public as advertised. I think they're still good for the gym if you have full thighs. Pretty disappointing for the high price. They would also be better if they had a (functional) bow tie
