Review on TYC 800030P Hyundai/Kia: High-Performance Replacement Cabin Air Filter for Optimal Air Quality by Curtis Richardson

Perfect fit for my wife's 2003 Hyundai Elantra. Long story short, the mouse got stuck in its fan cage, at least in part because it didn't have a cabin filter installed. I got over this fairly easily (hope the poor thing passed out pretty quickly from the blower housing vibrations) but was surprised there wasn't a filter. I've never tested this, so I have to assume the factory never installed it. We never noticed it wasn't installed, so I'm not sure we'll notice it's installed now. Either way, there should be one, so why not have one.
