Despite some negative reviews, I had high hopes for them. I liked the low profile design and brackets and intended to use them as side/rear auxiliary lights mounted on the roof rack. However, after connecting and testing them, they disappointed me greatly. First, they really are floodlights - I don't think there's a design difference between the two models they sell (although my box had the correct "floodlight" label). The beam is dense, with a concentrated central circle. I thought I was crazy so I hooked up an 18 watt auxbeam light right next to it (almost half the wattage of these Nilights) and the brightness was at least twice as bright. .I ordered several of these so I have them Tried all - each was disappointingly boring. I ended up returning them and buying more Auxbeam bulbs (18w and 36w models) and I am very happy with their light output and build quality. I know all those cheap imported lightbars lie about their performance, including the auxbeam I ended up having, but well, there has to be SOME truth to be held accountable for.
