I have a personal MacBook Pro and a Dell work laptop. I got tired of having both open on my desk at the same time and having to shuffle them when switching tasks between them. I now have both laptops in a box next to my desk and each is set to stay awake when the lid is closed. I also have a 27" monitor that gets power from each laptop's video outputs through this switch. Both the keyboard and mouse are wireless devices from Logitech that use their merging receiver to connect to a computer (or switch in this case). No Bluetooth hassle, no keyboard/mouse cables, just a tiny receiver for each that plugs into a USB port and automatically detects the connected device. Everything works great and since the very first time I turned everything on. So yes, you can use this with wireless keyboards and mice just fine. The Switch is still hardwired to laptops via USB for keyboard/mouse functionality and for VGA video output, but it's all out of sight on the floor next to my desk , where I also have this switch attached to my desk using 3M heavy duty command strips. To switch from one laptop to another, I simply reach for the edge of the desk and press the button. As mentioned by several others, there is a 3- 4 seconds delay before showing the video from another laptop but in my case it doesn't matter because I can't think of a scenario where it has to happen faster e. The only other delay is when I have to press a key on the keyboard or move/click the mouse to activate the new source laptop's video output. Neither of them go to sleep, but the video output does if they're inactive long enough. I could probably change it, but I don't care. I'm just glad everything is going so smoothly. The only thing I would like to understand before purchasing this particular switch is the lack of sound support. The USB ports are for keyboard/mouse pass-through only and the only video support is VGA which does not carry audio. I had to do some additional tweaking to play audio from two different laptops through the same set of desktop speakers, but an HDMI in/out on the video and audio switcher would be simpler and required fewer cables. However, I don't care enough to get another switch. This one works very well and I can easily replace the main shifter if it ever wears out.
