I drive a lot and I used to have one of mine Abandoned cup holders in the center console in favor of something else - a glasses case, lip balm, pens, etc. While it worked, it was frustrating to lose that cup holder as the cup holders in my doors are limited in their usefulness. I needed a new place to keep my stuff close at hand so I could reach everything even while driving. This bag was my decision. I hung it on the air vent on the driver's side, to the left of the steering wheel. I hardly ever use this vent, so the fact that it's blocked isn't a problem for me (the center vent is also blocked by the phone mount). It didn't have instructions that I saw, but I found it pretty intuitive: I took the hook tape from my pocket, stuck the hook between the vent louvers, and hooked it as deep as I could into the vent. I then routed the strap back through the bag and reattached it at the top as it seemed a good way to add stability. There is space for everything I need and my sunglasses hang on one of the outer loops. It's small, though, so read the dimensions carefully and measure your phone if you must. I don't use it to control my phone so its size is perfect for my needs but if you use a big phone you don't need it.
