Waterproof gaiters for hiking, climbing, hunting, snowshoeing, skiing, winter biking, trekking, running, rattlesnakes or just snakes in general. I use them to prevent snake bites from black, milk, king and copper snakes which are known to live in the area where I live in Tennessee. I've had my shin bitten twice in the last few years while mowing my lawn and hopefully these spats will put a stop to that. So far, so good! These leggings should be worn with high socks as they can irritate bare skin. They can also fit people with large calves. I give 4 stars for these two shortcomings. The straps hold them well over the shoes I use when cutting and eliminate attack paths below the knees. I'll see any snake that can strike over the guarded area before it sees me.
