Sheet metal is the only practical use
This is the first plasma cutter I have ever used. I used to use a grinder or cutoff saw to cut metal. This plasma cutter easily cuts material 1/8 inch thick or thinner. It makes a clean, perfect line. naturally a more jagged cut compared to a carbide blade. It seems well made and we'll see how it performs over time. UPDATE: I've been using the cutter a lot over the past few months. It's great for sheet metal, but that's really its only practical use. You can cut 3/16 inch steel, but it's more trouble than it's worth. If I were to do more projects in thicker metal with curved cuts, I would probably immediately switch to a more powerful and expensive plasma cutter.
