I often use Aunt Lydia's #10 denim for placemats, coasters and napkins. And I use many of their metallic filaments for backlighting, as well as separately for holiday projects. This combination of nature and gold is great for Christmas decorations. It has a subtle golden sheen and a touch of shimmer/bling that complements many color palettes. I've also used gold/gold metallic (Coats Crochet Aunt Lydia's Crochet, Cotton Metallic Size 10, Gold/Gold), but I actually like it better (not quite as "yellow"). Although it's a size 10 thread, the addition of a metallic thread makes it slightly larger - not enough to make a huge difference in a smaller project. But this can slightly increase the diameter of, for example, a large napkin or tree skirt. It also adds a bit of "stiffness" to the thread so it doesn't slide as smoothly as Aunt Lydia's "regular" thread. However, once you get used to it, this is not a problem. I bought this in a "pack" of 3 balls as I use quite a bit of these to make star decorations for fundraisers. Good price, good quality. Solid 4 stars.
