The ribbon is very pretty and very soft compared to the ribbon I remember on a long spool. Although I then came across a similar strap at a Chinese import store for about $1.25! It's been decades since I made this arc and I had to work from memory and trial and error to figure it out. (I wrote a review of Isao Honda's Origami World. He had an earlier edition of this book that included other animals and how to make this bow.) The softness of the ribbon made it difficult for me to work. s, but now I'm 70 and losing the dexterity I had when I first bowed in my 20s or earlier. The band kept slipping out of position, but that was because of what it was made of, so it might be something to consider, but don't let that put you off buying it. It's absolutely gorgeous and a great buy.
