I was looking for an XLR microphone to use with my Smule Karaoke Sing app in combination with the iRig-pre adapter. It seems like an exaggeration, I know, but it really isn't. Be patient and listen to me. let me explain. First, I can't sing into headphones. They still sound good, but they don't feel good. A handheld or vertical microphone is always handy. In order to use these apps, you need in-ear headphones or wired headphones so that you can listen to music. With standard headphones or microphones, it is not possible to connect an external speaker and listen to music while singing in the app. This results in severe audio distortion as the microphone picks up the sound coming from the external speakers, which is then picked up by the microphone and then sent back to the speakers, which are then picked up by the microphone again. This is a continuous cycle of avalanche distortion. However, there are times when I'd like to use an external speaker so I can use the app as if it were a standalone karaoke machine. This is the only mic (such acoustics and build quality) that allows me to do this. Why? Because it only picks up your voice very well coming out of your mouth. You can set the volume of the external speakers so high that the microphone does not pick them up. There is almost no distortion, depending on how loud the external speaker is. I got the SM58 first but it was a bit muddled and bassy for my voice type so I returned it based on feedback. I do not regret it. Yes, expensive, but it's a long-term investment that will bring many years of enjoyment and satisfaction, as it outperforms the SM 58 in terms of sound quality and exterior noise isolation. You can hear and judge the sound quality of this microphone for yourself using the headset-less setup mentioned above, using only an external speaker/monitor, by listening to some of the songs I played with this microphone in the karaoke app profile written by Smule Sing. Name @RichPaterno. You can also just go to Smule.com, find my profile name and click on the RECENT videos tab I've used this mic on. It has the most beautiful OMG sound!
