It is exactly like in the photo.
I bought this to replace the wooden handle on a cast iron grill press so I can heat it in the oven. I will of course use oven mitts. But some of the other equipment I used is galvanized, and I found I couldn't use them in a hot oven because they would give off toxic gases.
