If half stars were an option I would give it a 3.5 CONS: • 4 plastic parts connecting the clear part to the metal parts are *very* brittle; if even one breaks the feeder becomes completely useless • the lid is NOT latched - it rests on a toggle switch in the lid, but the pressure isn't strong enough to actually hold the lid in place • it's NOT in front Squirrels definitely protected • Perches small and flimsy and very close to feeding site which deters all but the smallest of birds [although this can be altered with common household items - I used zip ties and halved wooden clothespins (see photo)] PROS : • has an aesthetic design • very easy to clean and fill • birds love it, especially with perch modifications
