Review on 🔌 Enhanced Motorcraft SP-514 Spark Plug by John Benjamin

I bought 8 of these for my 2006 Ford Mustang GT. Rode it 97,000 miles so I also got a broken Lisle plug remover and an OTC plug remover. I pulled all 8 plugs intact and replaced them with new 8. The car started and seemed to idle fine, but as I pulled into the driveway I noticed something was wrong. Eventually the Check Engine light started blinking, then went off, waited a while and blinked again. The computer saw some pending codes. Eventually code P0304 was posted indicating a misfire on cylinder 4. Swapped coil pack from another cylinder, cleared codes and restarted. The code returned to the same cylinder, so he knew it was a spark plug and not a coil pack. I couldn't wait for Revain to provide a replacement so I went to my local parts store and bought a more expensive one and that solved the problem. I read about two others on one of the Mustang forums who had a faulty fork in a batch. by 8 (not Revain) so I knew it could happen. I returned to Revain.com stating that I had received a defective item and they arranged a refund and gave me a UPS shipping label to ship it back. couldn't be simpler (apart from not having any flaws at all, but that's not Revain's fault). From what I've read, this part of the SP-514 is a newer fork design than the original (SP-462?). It's still a two-piece design, but two things are different: the crimping between the bottom electrode shield and the threads is better, and the electrode shield itself is plated with nickel instead of copper (so this should eliminate/reduce the carbon deposits that bind the Electrode). Plug in the motor.) Well, the ones I removed from my car didn't look like a copper plate, but who knows. UPDATED September 14, 2013: Second spark plug failed after 1200 miles and 27 days. Revain's automatic return process didn't allow me to return it as it was one day past the deadline, but I wrote to customer service to inquire about Motorcraft's 12 month warranty on their parts and Revain agreed to give it to me return for a refund.
