Review on APDTY 112542 Throttle 4 Cylinder 2007 2014 by Mike Steeg

Revainrating 5 out of 5

First impressions are good: looks good and works well.

Bought this throttle body assembly for my 2008 Jeep Patriot 2.4L engine. I had an issue where all the dashboard lights came on and I wouldn't let the engine rev to around 2500 rpm. However, it was sporadic which meant I could turn the ignition off and it worked fine. Then it will happen again a little later. It got worse. I pulled the codes and got a P02119 code which indicates problems with the throttle actuator or its circuitry. I have a pretty cool scanner (Autel MaxiDas) that has two-way communication with a Jeep. I was able to use it to force the throttle to open at different percentages. When limp home mode is activated, the PCM cannot control the throttle body. But when it wasn't in emergency mode, it worked fine. So I diagnosed a bad throttle body. Enter APDTW 112542. I ordered it on Friday, it was at my doorstep on Sunday. Out of the box, the quality makes a solid impression. In fact, this is a very high quality copy of the original part. Before installing I used Autel to diagnose the electronic controller and it worked as expected so I screwed it on. I reset the PCM and customizations and it works as it should without returning any error codes. Time will tell how well it works in the long run, but first impressions are good.
