This is my first purchase of a cast iron cleaner. I bought it after reading reviews of similar products. The reason for the purchase was that rust had formed on my cast iron skillet. I followed the directions and found it easier and quicker to clean the pan than my previous method. It was easy to use and did no harm. I've found the sponge to be useful for grabbing chain mail and guiding it into hard-to-reach places. This is a great product and my pan came out clean. I can't believe I've never bought one before.
