I bought this wax to use on my lips and brows. I've used hard wax in the past but recently started using Retin-A so I wanted something softer so it wouldn't flake off my face. It collected about 85-90% of the hair, while hard wax usually collects almost all (maybe 98%). But it was much, much softer. It was less painful and my skin was a lot less red than usual. It's messier than hard wax, especially once it's cooled. I used a wooden cuticle spatula to apply as the spatula is quite large. I've tried a spatula on my lip but it picks up too much wax. The jar has a small lip on the inside that you can use to remove some of the excess, which helped, but it didn't fix the mess, just turned it from very messy to messy. I would recommend it for face waxing if you are ok with the need for some tweezing afterwards. (Note: It's still not recommended to use sugar wax if you use retinoids at all, but I decided to roll the dice. I took a few nights off before using it.)
