Said to be a commercial strain but I find it hard to believe. I've bought commercial thermometers like this one and it doesn't belong in the same category. When I checked the accuracy against the manufacturer's specs, it was off by 10 degrees or more. I adjusted it following the instructions in the email. When I started using it on a roast less than 2 weeks later, it was very low. Luckily I had another thermometer with me, and since the roast looked and felt like it was done, I checked the temperature again. The roast was as it should be. If I relied on that thermometer, I would ruin my family's dinner. It was recorded at least 40 degrees lower; If I waited until it got to the right temperature, the roast would turn into a smoldering ruin! Don't waste money.
