I have a flat boat for fishing in the bay. This boat has one drawback - two living wells located at the very back of the boat. The lids tend to open during operation, allowing water to fill these living wells. This adds a lot of extra weight, especially when trying to take off. I prefer not to use them for that reason alone. I wanted a snap closure to keep the lids sealed. That's where these bars come to the rescue. God they worked great. These gems hold the lids with no problem and they look great too. The rubber grip is ideal for accidental squeezes. No shortened toes. You don't have to worry about rusting either as these are rubber and stainless steel screws used to attach hardware. Very satisfied.
