This soundbar is exactly what every hard of hearing person needs to hear and understand dialogue while watching TV. I've wanted to buy ZVOX for over a year after seeing the ad, but I was wondering if it would really help. Originally I wanted ZVOX to only block out loud background noise that was overwhelming the voices, which was very annoying. This works great as promised. However, I recently started watching some UK Netflix shows and found that I couldn't understand much of what they were saying, so I had to use the CC (closed captioning) feature to hear the British accented dialogue better . So I finally gave in and bought an Acuvoice AV157 which has an additional "SuperVoice" feature when extra voice clarity is needed for the hearing impaired which offers "Extreme Voice Clarity". There are 6 levels to choose from with this feature, adding custom richness to voices and allowing you to use different levels of background noise fine-tuned to your unique needs. I am very satisfied with the whole system! The installation is very easy. Two plugs, one for the soundbar, the other for the TV. That's all. (Analog and digital cables included). I have to admit that the first device I got didn't connect. I called support, the person answered immediately, walked me through various checks to see what the problem could be. He thought it might be a bad block. He emailed the return label within minutes and stated that once they received notification that the defective unit was being shipped, it would be returned free of charge and a new unit shipped. They don't wait to have a defective block, it ships quickly. I quickly received a new device, hooked it up to my TV and it worked straight away. The various functions are easy to understand and navigate and are included in the brochure. There is also an option to connect your "normal" remote control so you can increase and decrease it for normal volume without using the ZVOX remote control. Therefore, you only need to use the ZVOX remote control when you change the functions as needed. I recommend this particular AV157 for its extra features that other models don't have. But if you don't have hearing problems, one of the other models might work. I am so pleased with this soundbar that I am about to order a second one for my bedroom TV.
