Low battery connections
I have two of these kitchen timers now. Both failed within a few months. Upon inspection, the second appears to have a weak and possibly intermittent connection to the battery. The device only turns on sporadically. And every small load for a while leads to a partial failure of the display. Cost: $10 and lots of hassle.
