I was a bit hesitant to buy this 5-in-1 dock lighting hub at first because of the bad reviews, but I bought it and am happy. I have an iPhone 8plus and an iPad Air 2, both with backlight connectors. First I connect the light cable from the power supply to the lighting hub, then I connect the hub to the device (any). Both devices charge normally when the hub is in use. I tried a USB stick with videos and pictures and a SanDisk memory card with videos, pictures and some other files. Using the Files app on my devices, I was able to easily play videos, view images, and open other files on both of my devices. The Lighting Hub 5 in 1 Dock works! It feels mature, sturdy, has nice clean lines and isn't bulky.
